A secure environment was created through the use of high-tech communications equipment
In an inner-city building, good security is always going to be an essential ingredient. Young people, often single, are regularly coming and going, and need to know the environment is safe for them.
Communications and security specialist Data Pacific won the contract to supply closed circuit television (CCTV), security access control, intercom, communications and television services throughout Federal Apartments.
Main entry doors required restricted access for tenants, and this was achieved with access control and communications to every individual apartment by way of the intercom door station. Furthermore, CCTV was installed in main public areas, providing round-the-clock surveillance for the body corporate.
Data Pacific has utilised its custom-built apartment distribution panel for the reticulation of telephone and television services in each apartment, enabling residents the discretion to choose telephone and internet providers. The panel also distributes free-to-air and pay-to-view television channels to every outlet in each apartment.
Director of Data Pacific Ian Woodley says his company has worked on a number of projects developed by Federal Street Trust.
"As with other projects for this developer, we have provided a high-quality solution on time and to meet the budget. We believe our quality workmanship and ability to provide all low-voltage services give us the edge in the market," he says.
