On a winter evening it's lovely to come home to a cosy house. And, on a chilly morning it's so much easier to get out of bed if the room is warm.

The way to ensure your entire home is efficiently heated is to install a gas central heating system from Vulcan, says Erin Patton, showroom manager for Auckland Gas.

"The Vulcan IHE high efficiency unit is over 90% efficient, and is more than 30% cheaper to run, compared to a conventional unit," says Patton.

Vulcan's zoning system allows you to divide your home into a maximum of four heating areas. This allows you to warm specific rooms, without wasting energy heating areas which you're not using.

"This zoning system facility can save you up to 48% on your annual heating bill," says Patton. "You can wake up warm and come home to warmth, then shut the system down while you're out or on holiday."

The system works by channelling hot air through floor vents or jets in the ceiling. The ducting and the heater is installed in either the ceiling or under the floor.

If space is tight, the heater unit can be installed externally.
