This kitchen, from McFarlane Design, has a cozy feel and still works well for entertaining larger groups
A kitchen is a very personal part of the home. We all have different needs and expectations, which are often based on our lifestyles and interests.
Becky and Van Aggelakos wanted their new kitchen to be comfortable and convenient for entertaining family and friends, and yet have a cozy feel when they are on their own.
They called on Shirley McFarlane, CKD, of McFarlane Design, to come up with a design that met these needs.
"Shirley did an outstanding job. She was completely on top of everything and worked with our ideas and elaborated on them. She was innovative and gave us some great ideas," says Becky Aggelakos.
The kitchen includes two islands with an attached informal walnut table. These provide distinctive areas for seating, preparation, serving and entertaining.
"I'm not tall, so I was especially pleased with the way she separated the two ovens rather than stacking them. They're much easier for me to use," she says.
