Every interior designer, regardless of whether they are working on a commercial or residential project, is striving to achieve an enduring design. Of particular import in achieving this outcome is the choice of furniture.

When the designers at Warren and Mahoney were devising the multifaceted design scheme for Telecom Place, an emphasis was placed on using pieces from designers and manufacturers who are recognised for their strict adherence to quality.

This emphasis resonates with furniture supplier Matisse, whose own benchmark is an exacting compliance to superior design, says commercial manager Jane Roulston.

"For more than 30 years, Matisse has been working with the interior fit-out supply sector, and has forged a reputation with clients and leading manufacturers alike for delivering proven solutions of unmatched comfort and durability.

"Warren and Mahoney approached us with a brief for chairs suitable to a variety of formal and informal meeting locations. Among the requirements were timeless design, recognised manufacturers and designers, a high level of comfort and durability, and provision for a range of finishes to enhance the overall interior scheme.

"Of the selection, the designers chose Herman Miller Setu and Eames Shell chairs for meeting spaces, Metropolitan and Oscar chairs for lounge areas and Arco Bellini for breakout areas, all excellent examples of design and function," says Roulston.

"While vastly different, each of these designs has the same core principle the dematerialisation of the end product. Nothing is included that doesn't need to be there and yet comfort and ergonomics have not been compromised.

"Another deciding factor for choosing Matisse as a supplier is our companies' commitment to quality and sustainability," says Roulston. "Matisse focuses on working with manufacturers dedicated to achieving environmental excellence, with warranty guarantees and certifications to support this."
