Italian handcrafted coffee machines are available from the Australian division of Elektra
In Treviso, Northern Italy, three generations of the Fregnan family have been handcrafting coffee machines for distribution around the world.
In recognition of Australia's growing taste for fine coffee, Elektra Italia opened Elektra Australia in July 2003, says national manager Sue Watts.
"Since 1947, every coffee machine has been highly engineered and exhaustively tested. These sculptured objects produce coffee to professional cafe standards. The combination of Italian styling and hand-crafted assembly has ensured a global popularity."
Available in a range of styles, Elektra coffee machines are designed to add an aesthetic element to a kitchen interior.
The traditional styling of the Microcasa series is available in copper and brass or chrome. For a retro look that evokes the glamour of the art deco period, the Nivola range was designed by Andrea Fregnan, son of the company's founder.
Before delivery, every Elektra coffee machine is tested rigorously for 48 hours. All machine parts are manufactured by the company.
