Architectural innovation istransforming the way we live, but behind every great idea there has to be a builder who can bring it to fruition.
This dramatic beach house is a case in point. Designed by architect Scott Peabody, the house was built by Sanctuary 28 Projects a multi award-winning company that has been building coastal homes in southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales for nearly 10 years.
Don Cotterill, Sanctuary 28 director, says the house has many stand-out features.
"The highly contemporary architectural form maximises the ocean views from every room, and provides a strong indoor-outdoor connection," he says. "All the living spaces have been designed in an informal linear arrangement, which, along with double-height voids, provides a transparency through the house."
Cotterill says the simple, minimalist nature of the design belies a complex construction.
"There are many distinctive features that required us to think outside the box," he says. "These include aluminium batten screening elements, and a large infinity-edge pool."
Cotterill says Sanctuary 28 also offers a custom-design service, and has its own range of award-winning designs.
"Our small team of multi-skilled building professionals has more than 30 years' experience," he says. "Having a small team allows easy communication between clients, architects and contractors. It also ensures our homes capture a client's lifestyle and the essence of their surroundings."
All Sanctuary 28 projects come with extensive industry-backed warranties.
