Claiming the spotlight

Success has many spin-offs. Doubling in size over four years provided insurance company Lumley with an opportunity to raise its profile, a highly visible presence on the Auckland skyline

Having naming rights to a significant new high-rise in downtown Auckland makes company signage an important consideration. For the Lumley project, the tender was won by Corporate Signage.

Manager Mike Whyte says the main, animated building signage, which is due to be installed before Christmas, was designed to maximise visual impact. It features animated red line elements and illuminated masts.

The company enlisted the services of neon artist Paul Hartigan from Snake Studios and installation expert Jim Scharfe from Pro Sign Services.

"Our intention was for a dynamic, yet sympathetic illumination," says Hartigan. "We needed an architecturally integrated solution, and we wanted to establish the Lumley building as a major iconic entity within the Auckland CBD."

Corporate Signage also designed, manufactured and installed reception signage, stainless steel lettering on the external wall, stainless steel directional signage, illuminated stainless steel lightboxes, and car park signage.
