Chateau of the century
A custom iron door by Castle Entries creates an imposing front entry
In medieval times, a castle was a fortress, which made the entry a significant feature. And so it is today the show home entry needed to make a dramatic statement, yet also convey a sense of warmth and welcome.
Castle Entries was contracted to provide a wrought iron custom entry door that would have both the aesthetics and functionality required for the upscale home. The door features a radius top and the Concord scrollwork design, with faux gold over a black finish and clear glass. The steel scrollwork is 5/8in thick, and the door sheets and jamb are constructed of 12-gauge steel, which is coated with zinc prior to painting to protect the door.
CEO Glen Blickenstaff says Castle Entries can supply handmade iron doors in any dimension and shape, and with almost any scrollwork design. The company offers 23 stock designs in five distinct finishes, with multiple glass options. These can be personalized as required. Other products include cellar doors and windows.
