"All products are finished in our high-tech factory, then installed on site. Benefits of exotic stone include strength, and a variety of hues and veining that can work with an array of aesthetics and colour schemes. While the appeal of stone is suited to traditional designs, it also provides a graceful complement to modern, clean-lined spaces."

These products are specified by architects, designers, and builders as well as homeowners. Designer Neil McLachlan explains why Italian marble was selected for this kitchen remodel.

"I have worked with Granite Workshop for many years, relying on their experience and skill to deliver to the specifications required. And this project provides good example of the quality of their work," he says. "The two 30mm-deep benchtops with custom edging and the individual butler's sink all in richly veined Carrara marble were finely crafted inclusions for this kitchen, in a dignified 110-year-old villa.

"There used to be a perception that marble stained easily. However advanced sealants have changed all that, turning a long-admired, attractive surface into a hard-working one that always looks its best, as reflected in this space."
