Catering to all Sleek practical kitchen designed by Robyn Labb Kitchens

While one client may want a new kitchen to look the part from the living spaces, another might require a more family-oriented design. Then there are those who need a space that can cater for two or twenty. In this case, all three kitchens were required from the same project.

Kitchen designer Robyn Labb's response was as multifaceted as the agenda. At the centre of the design is a solid double oven and a marble backsplash that draws the eye from the adjacent living and dining areas, and are perfectly suited to an entertainer's kitchen.

The island counter is in the same stone as the backsplash, drawing the areas together. The stainless steel counter adds to the efficient spread of work surfaces, says Labb.

"I designed custom cabinets to work with both the home's original architecture and the extension. There is also a large, walk-in scullery to the rear with a second oven, dishwasher, and fridge, so the teenagers of the house can prepare snacks out of sight of the living spaces."
