Camera ready colourful Resene kitchen

Not many kitchens have to meet the diverse brief of this project. It not only had to be functional for the family, but also had to be a suitable location for filming television commercials.

The owners wanted the kitchen to have plenty of visual impact and a bright palette that would reflect their colourful personalities and showcase the food, appliances and presenter.

With this in mind Sarah Quinlan Design specified Resene colours. Resene Moxie was selected for the cabinetry to provide a link with the tropical greenery of the outdoor living area. To make the green appear crisp and clean, it is teamed with Resene Sea Fog, a cool grey white.

Resene Pursuit, a warm red, further enhances the colour scheme; and the entry beyond features the more subdued tones of Resene Lemon Grass. Because most of the filming would take place in the kitchen, it was important coloured light wouldn't bounce off the walls. So the wall opposite the cabinets is papered in Gardens of Amsterdam a highly textural, embossed paper with pearlised white fernery available from Resene.

The sofa and stools were selected using the Resene iSwatch app, which makes it easy to shop for accessories.
