Creating a point of difference is a popular goal when building a house. An unusual or unexpected design feature, or using a certain material differently can have the desired result.

The featured property uses these measures to good effect, especially the internal corner window, says Aluminium Systems NZ sales and marketing manager Rod Andrews.

"This is a great example of an unexpected feature. The joinery comprises 40mm architectural windows manufactured by Aluminium Systems' Tauranga-based fabricator Tasman Aluminium as does the exterior joinery."

Aluminium Systems provided products from its Architectural Suite, customised to the owners' specifications, as these products offered the desired strength and look, says Andrews.

The square-shaped profile of the Architectural Series creates a clean, sharp look, well suited to contemporary architecture.
