Increasingly, swimming pools are becoming a standard feature in the Kiwi back yard as better technologies allow for pools to be placed in formerly inaccessible or restricted sites.

The featured pool is located three storeys above street level, so its structure needed to be completed before the house was built, says Grant van der Vegte of Mayfair Pools.
