Broad perspective

Often a detailed look at a single aspect of a development can give an indication of the standard of the overall project. The suspended ceiling systems for Summerset by the Park, supplied and installed by Accurate Ceilings, offer an excellent example.

"For the Summerset development, given the solid concrete slab construction of the buildings, we were asked to install suspended systems throughout," says McCleary. "The suspended ceiling system provides an 800mm space to run the diverse range of services that thread through the complex."

A metal baton extrusion system was specified for this job, partly for economic efficiency and partly to ensure the integrity of the ceilings far into the future. This was particularly important here, says McCleary, given the stepped cornice work on the ceilings throughout. With this detailing, any cracking or shifting would have been expensive to replace.
