Best foot forward

When it comes time to sell your house, you want it to look its finest. Interior and exterior design company Yellowfox brought out the best in this beachside house built for sale by master builder Goldline Construction.

With a spectacular view sweeping across the sea to Rangitoto, it was easy to take inspiration from the water. The Yellowfox design team specified a minimalist palette of greys and warm whites for a marine theme. The neutral colour scheme has appeal for a wide range of potential buyers, with interior colours that are light and breezy to ensure they won't detract from the beachfront view.

The house's open-plan design allows each room to maximise the view through huge windows and glazed sliding doors. Even the kitchen, tucked behind the living room, sees a panorama.

For the kitchen Yellowfox created a clean look by recessing handles on the lacquered cabinetry made by Stylehouse Kitchens. A DecoGlaze glass splashback in Champagne Glitz reflects the island, which is finished with waterfall ends. The benchtop is Quarella New Diamante, an engineered Italian stone from Tile Warehouse, while floor coverings are hard-wearing Yura Lead honed and Naturestone Grigio tile was used for the exterior.
