Plastics fabricator Ashfield Plastics supplied custom point-of-sale displays to Telecom Place
Starting in the 1980s, the face of shopping has undergone a massive change. No longer regarded as a chore, shopping has become a pleasurable, even social, activity. Savvy retailers have shifted focus and are offering patrons a journey, rather than just a destination. Increasingly, this is facilitated by merging technology with more standard forms of display.
For specialist plastics fabricator Ashfield Plastics, the opportunity to produce a range of display platforms for the new Telecom concept store was eagerly accepted, says director Tony Bowman.
"We were approached by Format Interiors with an initial outline from the architects and asked to come up with a concept and associated prototypes for various point-of-sale displays.
"The project gave us the chance to explore a range of unique, dual-purpose pieces that required specialised solutions to enable constant updating of products and promotions."
Tony Bowman says the Telecom project, while on a smaller scale, had a level of complexity that appealed to the company, which is equally at home with special one-off installations as well as nationwide fit-outs. With more than 40 years industry experience, Ashfield Plastics specialises in all aspects of plastics fabrication, including full design services, laser profile cutting and line bending.
