H aving functional space to store kitchenware is important, but so too is having a place to show off your vases, china, or art objects.

Glasshape specialises in shaping and curving glass for both residential and commercial projects. Its products can be used for cabinetry, bay and feature windows, balustrading, skylights, barrel vault entrances, conservatories and partitioning.

As well as having decorative use, curved glass can play a functional role by increasing the sense of space in a room.

When used for curved bay windows, the glass requires little framework, is easy to install and maintain, and provides unobstructed views.

Curved glass can also complement a grand, sweeping staircase when applied to balustrading. Another effective use is enclosing an entranceway or capping an atrium with glazed barrel vaults.

Bending glass requires both craftsmanship and technology. Glasshape staff begin with flat sheets of glass, and then apply heat to shape them. The company has developed techniques that allow it to bend most types of glass, which can then be laminated or double-glazed.
