Beach house appeal has a modern twist
Contrast of stainless steel and Chestnut wood veneer for contemporary European style kitchen

Designed by Laura Ellis, Matisse
From the designer:
The owners wanted a contemporary European Style ultra-functional kitchen for a sophisticated beach house with clean, angular architectural lines and neutral colours that reflect the beach landscape.
· Contrast of stainless steel doors, tops and plinths with Fume Chestnut wood veneer finish
· To have hanging/suspended shelves above the island to complement the slope of the high pitched ceiling. This proved to be the biggest installation challenge. A flat section had to be built on the sloping ceiling to hold the weight of the double solid stainless steel hanging shelves with

· built-in touch LED lighting and utensil holder bars
· The island, with deep drawers and hidden internal cutlery drawers, to be a feature of the kitchen
· To have sleek Integrated handles – chosen from the Arclinea Convivium range
· To give a modern Italian/European feel, look and style to the beach house
· Open plan with a good flow to a walk through side scullery with second sink
· Kitchen cabinetry to frame the back window
· Two large pantries in the main kitchen with Blum pull out drawers
· Streamlined and integrated appliances
· Flush induction cooktop and downdraft ventilation with pop up plug
· Integrated dishwasher and bin
· Large oven and steam oven
· Full fridge and full freezer plus a Beer and Wine fridge
· Stainless steel sink welded into the 120cm thick, chunky island worktop
· LED strip lighting
