This bathroom lets bathers take centre stage on a stone podium set behind a static glass curtain
Dividing a bedroom and bathroom with a wall of glass lends visual space to each.
The bathroom seen on these pages is a collaboration between bathroom designer Leon House and Mark Rietveld from custom builder Buildwise.
"We set the bathroom behind glass and on a pedestal for dramatic impact," says House. "A small gap between the two glass walls allows air and conversation to flow between the bath and bedroom."
The bathroom, which is slightly raised, is finished in Jura travertine in slabs on the floor and walls, and in segmented strips for visual interest behind the vanity.
"Massive, matched stone pieces give the space a substantial presence," says Rietveld. "Less obvious features include retractable blinds for privacy, along with a laundry chute tucked into the cabinetry."
