Barefoot in paradise

One of the luxuries of a resort holiday is being able to walk directly outdoors to a beautifully landscaped pool area. Such locations appeal to all the senses including touch. The feel of smooth, cool paving underfoot is just as relaxing as the view.

For this country home, modelled on a tropical resort, an outdoor living area featuring concrete coloured with the Peter Fell system was specified. Architectural designer Mark Wilson of Masonry Design Solutions says a light shade of Peter Fell coloured concrete was chosen to work tonally with the colour palette of the house.

"The concrete has a sandstone appearance, which emulates the paving of many tropical resorts," he says.

The Peter Fell system was also used inside the house coloured concrete features in the main living areas, where it is laid to resemble large flagstones. As the colour is an integral part of both concrete surfaces, it won't chip off or wear away, even in high traffic areas.
