At the water's edge
In the shadow of Anzac Bridge this contemporary residential development is inspired by a rich architectural heritage
The coming together of different materials to achieve a unified look can occur at various strategic points in a design. It can be a pathway or a recurring visual motif, or, as it is at Glebe Harbour, something as intrinsic to a building's function as the roof.
Maintek liaised with a number of other contractors to install the roof on all five of the residential buildings, says project manager Andrew Blockley.
"With such diverse architectural features, it was imperative we achieved a look that was neat, straight and seamless. Although the shades of grey vary, the pitches are different and the shapes diverse, the use of ultra-coated material ties each complex into a unified whole."
Maintek designed and installed a safety system that enables easy external access for ongoing roof maintenance. In keeping with the roofline's clean aesthetic, it doesn't interfere with the overall look
"In this high-profile location we have ensured that ladders and safety equipment are hidden from ground view."
