Contemporary architecture Australian or European requires appliances with a similar design aesthetic

The brief to the architect of this contemporary house was simple design a home to take full advantage of the surrounding views.
Clean lines, a pared-back palette and a mix of classic to contemporary materials impart a modern result and the owners installed equally modern appliances, says Gavan McKenna, national marketing manager for Major Electrical Appliances.
"The kitchen is the statement-making area of this home. It's spacious, with good proportions and bounteous work areas, and the cream-coloured cabinetry and richly veined marble benchtops provide a strong contrast to the sleek De Dietrich appliances."

The homeowners extensively researched appliances from around the world to ensure they made the right choice. Form and function in equal proportions were paramount in their final decision, says McKenna.
"De Dietrich was the brand of choice, as they were convinced it offered superior products in its category and would deliver the results required for their entertaining needs."
The owners' favourite appliance has to be the oven, for its powerhouse functionality. "We are impressed with the colourful control panel and the Intelligent Control System feature of the oven because it assures perfect working results. We also love the pyrolytic feature of this oven it takes care of the cleaning on its own," the owners say.
