Artistic focus

Natural light is generally our preferred solar source, but at times in learning facilities where students may be studying, watching audiovisual presentations or performing, it also needs to be controlled.

To provide the appropriate levels of control in the various teaching rooms, resource centres, studios and offices in the 10-level Queensland Academy of Creative Industries, KWA Blinds was asked to supply a selection of its environmentally friendly blinds.

Director Ken Wilson worked with the project architects to provide the most suitable blinds for each area. Where filtered light was needed, Verosol Mode Roller Blinds, made from Veroscreen, a Sunscreen fabric, in colour Charcoal Sable, were supplied. These chain-operated blinds incorporate a counterbalancing spring that makes them very easy to operate manually. A stainless steel chain and metal componentry with a brushed alloy finish give the blinds a sleek, modern look. For areas requiring complete privacy and protection from light, Verosol Mode Roller Blinds in Aspect, a blockout fabric, were supplied in colour Domino.

For other areas, KWA Blinds supplied and installed the Verosol Slimline Venetian Blinds in colour Parchment.
