Generating warmth in the winter doesn't have to be a cumbersome chore or be done at the expense of your interior design.

The new range of Horizon gas fires designed and built by Queensland-based manufacturer Kemlan, and available from Jetmaster, provides interior-friendly solutions tailored to suit busy and design-conscious homeowners.

Product development manager for Kemlan Joel Belnick says the launch of Horizon fires into the market was a logical decision backed by a growing demand for contemporary interior designs.

"We wanted to create a fireplace that could be integrated into a home environment and enhance, rather than draw attention away from, the interior," he says.

The fires come with a gas burner that feeds flames through pebbles, logs or coal that are fixed above the firebox base, creating an authentic-looking fire setting.

The fire surround remains cool, so it can be painted to match your wall colour, adding versatility to your interior. Also available are full stainless steel surrounds offering a contemporary look.

Horizon freestanding gas fires are suitable for limited spaces or for those seeking a simple installation and offer a sculptural quality to complement interior decors, Belnick says.

"This fire can also be built in, by covering the flue and extending the base."
