A project the size of Pounamu Apartments requires a lot of joinery and, if deadlines are to be met, an efficient joiner.

Architect Tony Koia says Wood Solutions delivered on time, and the minimal amount of maintenance necessary on completion is a tribute to the company's professionalism.

The external shutters are so large that Wood Solutions had to team up with Koia to design a custom aluminium stiffening system to ensure that the shutters would remain rigid and withstand the Queenstown climate. Finding a track system to cope with the conditions was also important and Wood Solutions researched three options before settling on one which aided the smooth operation of the shutters and added strength.

Wood Solutions also manufactured and supplied interior cedar shutters, interior doors, stairs and kitchen joinery.

The company achieved the seamless, clean and simplistic look required in the kitchens by integrating all the appliances, including some of the latest European hardware.
