In any landscape, it's the paving that will define the overall look largely because of its visual prominence. So it pays to tread carefully when it comes to making a choice about what goes underfoot.
For the outdoor living area of this Eden Homes house, a semi-formal Italian look was required. The paving needed to complement the plaster exterior of the house and the formal parterre with its clipped box hedging and classical water feature.
The designer specified Akarana pavers and coping stones with a smooth finish, from Jagas Paving's Platinum range. The pavers, which were laid three years ago, have retained their good looks and proven their durability over the seasons.
Robert Sweet of Jagas Paving says the 12mm topping mix and the colour-fast oxides ensure the pavers have the appearance, weathering properties and colour variation of natural stone. But, as Jagas pavers are handmade, they can take on virtually any shape and texture, while being as strong and durable as concrete.
