Aegis Living age-care facility

The use of bent glass railings in the entrance staircase of the main building allows the open feeling of light and space to fill the lobby area.

Aegis Living is a private high quality age-care provider with 28 facilities throughout Washington, California and Nevada. The company sports many Awards, including securing a place as a Glassdoor Top 15 Places for Work Life Balance (amid 600,000 listed).

Early in 2017, Aegis remodelled their Bellevue facility, bringing the finish in line with their company image of ‘Quality’. Entering through the main lobby door, to your left you are welcomed by a large curving reception countertop, and on your right stands a grand sweeping spiral staircase. The staircase runs up beside the window facades, and the use of bent glass railings allows the open feeling of light and space to fill the lobby area.

”Everyone loves this staircase” said the site manager when we took these photos at Christmas time. “We get comments from our customers all the time about how beautiful it is”

Aluminium and Bronze Fabricators, based in Auburn WA secured the contract to build the staircase and the rolled steel base shoe in which the glass railing is secured. To ensure perfect accuracy, Glasshape® was contracted to 3D Laser Scan the staircase once in place on site, create an as-built CAD model to then custom fabricate each bent glass panel.

Glasshape® would like to congratulate Aluminium and Bronze Fabricators on another successful project completed!
