Basic black provides the perfect foil for a splash of gold, creating an atmosphere of sophisticated simplicity with a touch of fun.Yellowfox worked closely with EW Building Management to renovate two upstairs bathrooms and a powder room in this featured property. The homeowner sought a change that was still in keeping with the house's traditional style, says designer Claire Bruford. The renovated bathrooms now follow a classic line with quality fittings and fixtures like those specified by the top hotels, she says. The cabinetry, designed with a freestanding furniture look, features Bestwood Cinder Recon Veneer and was built by Command Kitchens. The dark timber veneer vanities are chunky and solid, contrasting with the highly polished tiles on the floors and walls in the family bathrooms and the floral wallpaper in the renovated powder room. This bathroom features a double vanity stretching the length of the wall underneath a custom-framed bevelled mirror. The vanity top is Quarella Botticino, which is a marble-based engineered stone supplied by Tile Warehouse. The same Quarella Botticino vanity tops were specified for the family bathroom, which has a soft brown colour palette. The walls are tiled in Grecco Camozza polished porcelain tile from Tile Warehouse. The floor in the larger of the two bathrooms has mosaic tile detail around the room's perimeter and the shower.Glamour sums up the powder room. Guests are surrounded by rich gold and black Japanese-style floral wallpaper. Super Black polished porcelain tiles complement the Absolute Black granite vanity top.
