Since these alterations the owners had grown to appreciate the other, cooler end of the house. The existing north-west deck can be hot and windy, so an alternative was needed one with an infinity-edge pool, an outdoor room with toilet and shower, and a view to the lake.

"We decided on the eastern end as it abuts the lake and has easy access to the earlier upgraded main living areas and expansive kitchen."

The wet-edge pool was run alongside the lake, with a dark finish that blends with the lake.

"We set the pool house to the east, facing west. Large western red cedar bi-folds pull back to create a generous, open flow to the decks."

The shower and toilet were incorporated into the existing garage facing the pool house.
