Ease tire muscles in a hot tub from Colonial Hot Tubs
Throughout history, many cultures have established rituals around bathing that have endured into the present day.
A luxuriant soak in a hot tub is one of the most popular ways to turn the act of bathing into an indulgence. In New Zealand, Colonial Hot Tubs has been hand-making Canadian western red cedar tubs for more than 30 years, says director Charles George, who took over the firm from his late brother Simon George.
"Each hot tub is constructed using traditional coopering methods. Handcrafted staves are bound together using galvanised or gold-plated bands for an excellent, watertight seal."
So precise is the construction that the tubs hold together without the need for nails or glue.
"We're passionate about our product, which has been a key factor in the ongoing success of the business. Clients can be assured of personalised service, coupled with a classic design that is solid and effective, and just as popular today as it was when the company was founded."
With an internal depth of one metre, users can enjoy a free-floating experience for an added sense of relaxation.
