A good soaking
For a soothing and therapeutic dip, you need go no further than a traditionally made tub from The Colonial Hot Tub Company
Sinking into a deep tub of hot water has long been recognised as an effective way to relax, wash away the cares of the day and ease tired or aching muscles.
Privately owned and operated, The Colonial Hot Tub Company has a long history of making deep-sided timber hot tubs using traditional barrel-making techniques. Since 1977, the company has been handcrafting its tubs using Canadian heart cedar.
Staves are handmade to produce a watertight tub with an excellent seal, and the tub is then finished with distinctive galvanised or gold-plated bands that hold it together without glue or nails. The interiors are hand sanded and the exteriors coated with a natural stain.
With a local factory, the quality can be controlled to ensure tubs are manufactured to a high standard, and heating and filtration equipment is all top of the line.
The tubs are 1m deep so bathers are immersed up to shoulder level and are available in a choice of diameters, suitable for between four and 10 people.
