A large kitchen is strong enough to contain a powerful central feature, which has the effect of drawing the eye into the middle of the space and making the kitchen feel more unified.Designer David Stimmel worked closely with the owners to design this kitchen, with its traditional combination of cherry wood and black-painted cabinetry. All cabinetry was manufactured by Crystal Cabinet Works. To give the kitchen a focus, Stimmel located the range at the center of the space, with a tumbled marble backsplash and hearth-style hood. Enkeboll mouldings and accents were used throughout the kitchen to evoke the look of fine Williamsburg furniture. The refrigerator panels were detailed to be reminiscent of a fine family heirloom."David has a good eye for design," says Fox. "We worked together on this kitchen project. The design is practical and his detailing creates the look we wanted."Stimmel has won several national design competitions, and has been recognized by Kitchen & Bath Business magazine and Qualified Remodeler for his workmanship.
