Melonie Bayl-Smith is Director of Bijl Architecture, an architecture and interiors practice located on Cammeraygal land in Willoughby on Sydney’s North Shore. 

Since establishing Bijl Architecture in 2012, Melonie has built a highly respected practice dedicated to pursuing meaningful and inclusive client relationships and design excellence. Her practice extends across residential, public, education and community projects, leveraging her drive for ethical, empathic and effective architecture. 

From this philosophical framework her practice creates architecture that is impeccably detailed, grounded in economic mindfulness, resilient, and alive with light and character.

Melonie exerts an untiring commitment to championing the potential of people and architecture. Her achievements as architect, agitator, educator and mentor have benefited the wider profession and been instrumental in BIJL Architecture's emergence as a practice of note.

Well known for her commitment to architectural education, Melonie is Associate Professor of Architecture at UNSW where she leads design studios and teaches professional practice studies.

In 2018 she was awarded the Paula Whitman Prize for Leadership in Gender Equity, in recognition of her significant contributions to the broader profession, further recognized by being made a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects in 2020.

In her spare time, she runs a vinyl record store with her husband and teenage children and plays drums in a jazz ensemble.

Robin Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995 and began his architectural journey interning at William Lim Architects. He later honed his craft at Bedmar & Shi before co-founding Wallflower Pte Ltd in 1999.

Since 2000, he has served as the principal architect of Wallflower Architecture + Design.

Robin’s work has earned widespread recognition, including multiple Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) awards: the ICI Colour Awards (2002, 2003, and 2004) and the Architectural Design Awards (2004, 2010, 2016, 2023, and 2024).

His projects have also achieved international acclaim, with the Forgetting Time House winning the 2023 Trends International Design Awards (TIDA) International Home of the Year.

Additionally, the Touching Eden House won the House & Villa (Rural/Coastal) category at the World Architecture Festival 2024.

Wallflower Architecture + Design is a boutique firm specializing in creating bespoke, high-end homes tailored to the unique lifestyles and aspirations of their clients.

Angelique Armstrong is a New Zealand–based, multi–award-winning designer with an extensive background in architectural interior design, art, colour, and spatial composition.

She specialises in high-end residential interiors and commercial fit-outs, bringing a refined, design-led approach to every project.

Over the past 14 years, Angelique has built Armstrong Interiors into a highly respected design practice recognised for its distinctive aesthetic, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to design excellence.

Her work has been celebrated with numerous national and international awards, reflecting her ability to merge creativity, innovation, and functional elegance.

Renowned for her professionalism and discerning eye, Angelique continues to lead her growing studio with passion, integrity, and a dedication to achieving perfection in every project she undertakes.


Linda Simons, LSA Architects, Melbourne
Linda Simons, LSA Architects, Melbourne

Linda's journey as a founder of LSA Architects began after her graduation from the University of Melbourne, with a focus on delivering high-end residential projects and interiors.

With over 30 years of experience in the industry, her company has thrived, earning numerous awards both locally and internationally.

Located in Malvern East, Victoria, LSA Architects has built a solid reputation for its expertise in various residential construction projects, including heritage renovations, new homes, interiors and multi-residential boutique developments.

Additionally, the company occasionally takes on retail and commercial projects, further expanding its portfolio.

Linda plays an active, hands-on role in all the projects her team undertakes, ensuring that each one meets the highest standards of quality and design. Her team of experienced professionals guarantees stunning results, contributing to the ongoing success of the company.
