Mick De Giulio of de Giulio Kitchen Design has been at the forefront of kitchen design throughout the United States and internationally for over 45 years.

In addition to residential kitchen design, his body of work includes commercial projects and product design for companies such as Abt Electronics, Kallista, SieMatic, Sub-Zero/Wolf and Visual Comfort Lighting.

de Giulio Kitchen Design projects have featured prominently in Trends over many years.

Following a Diploma in Interior Design and Bachelor of Arts in Spatial Design, Davinia Sutton has now been in the industry for 22 years – operating Detail by Davinia Sutton for the past fourteen years. 

Her design practice – based in Merivale, Christchurch – is a high-end bespoke interior architecture business with projects across New Zealand and Australia, and specialising in the ‘hard spaces of the home’, including kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, dressing rooms, media rooms and study areas .

Her impressive nearly 100 awards won since 2007, inlcude numerous awards on the international stage. 

Davinia’s long experience plays a significant role as key designer and director of a business now with seven staff, and growing. She believes that engaging a designer is an investment and that her success has been achieved through her ability to listen to her clients’ needs. She enjoys personally tailoring each and every design to its architectural context, and pushing boundaries to deliver a stunning result.

Davinia is a previous winner of TIDA International Bathroom of the Year, as well as several TIDA New Zealand awards.

Mark Bullivant, SAOTA

Mark completed a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Cape Town in 2006. He immediately joined SAOTA, cutting his teeth overseeing the construction of a number of local projects. 

Mark quickly established himself within the practice with his all-round ability, work ethic and leadership skills and started climbing the ranks, culminating in promotion to Senior Associate and in 2015 to Principal of SAOTA. 

He is creative, versatile, and ambitious. Mark’s interest in the profession and the realisation of unique design solutions are apparent in his projects both locally and abroad.

SAOTA has twice previously won TIDA International Home of the Year with homes in Sydney and Cape Town.

Gary Todd, Gary Todd Architecture

Gary Todd is a NZIA Registered Architect, ADNZ Architectural Designer, and Director of Gary Todd Architecture with over 40 years of experience designing over 1000 buildings and recipient of over 100 architectural design awards.

Awards including 2014 ADNZ National Residential Home for Shotover River House, 2018 TIDA Architect New Zealand Home of the Year for Cascata, 2022 NZIA Sir Miles Warren Award in Commercial Architecture for Ebb Hotel Dunedin, and 2023 TIDA Architect New Zealand Runner Up Home of the Year for The Lake House.

Gary is based in Dunedin with offices also in Wanaka and Christchurch. He leads a small practice with projects throughout the South Island of New Zealand that have sustainability and innovation as core values.

Gary considers that we all have a responsibility to produce architecture that creates a sense of place in context with its people that is inspiring and enduring.

Gary seeks to promote respect of our natural environment and built heritage with adaptive reuse or new work that is ecologically sensitive contemporary architecture reflective of its own time, and that enhances the wellbeing of the property owner, the community and our society.
