This is often the case with heritage homes – especially those with a strong character. With this project, Peter Ahern introduced a classic material palette to compliment the clean lines of the existing residence, which also featured captivating views over Sydney heads.Consistency and continuity between old and new were his top priorities. The home is centred around the location, facing out to Sydney Heads The work centred around the reconfiguration of spaces. There's a new, enlarged northern yard and an upper floor deck linking reconfigured sleeping areas to further take advantage of the idyllic setting. Another focus was the improved function of the kitchen and bathrooms.Materials are simple and refined, with crisp white rendered walls capped in robust zinc roofing, giving way to subtle timber accents and textured furnishing internally. This balcony features a glass balustrade and views The result is a minimal, classic home with clean lines directing ones gaze to the heads beyond.
