This kitchen was created by Joinery Specialists, an Otago-based firm creating kitchens from solid, enduring materials. The design replaces a tired white kitchen with limited functionality, says manager Graeme Emmerson.

"Joinery Specialists achieved this new kitchen by translating the owners' likes into an aesthetically pleasing workspace," says Emmerson. "The kitchen has 60mm-deep Kymara benchtops in white, which counterpoint the black lacquer cabinetry. Together, these create a dramatic effect when viewed from adjacent areas."

Aluminium-strip handles build on the kitchen's strong yet minimalist appeal this attention to detail a hallmark of every job undertaken by the company.
