What brings you outdoors?
For this al fresco project, elements include a 12m pool, a pool house, half basketball court and gym – along with low-upkeep lawns and seating/dining options
Designed by South Pacific Landscapes
From the landscape designer:
The large-scale, semi-formal landscaping for this 900m² house was designed to nestle the home into the surrounding landscape with extensive native and exotic planting in large swatches, along with maximising the expansive views.
The areas around the house were designed to be more formal, in keeping with the architecture.
The levels of the site were utilised to add interest to the design with retaining and steps creating different zones and outdoor rooms.

Elements include a 12m swimming pool, a pool house, gym, multiple seating and dining options – all taking in fabulous uninterrupted views of the Havelock Hills.
There is also a half basketball court, low-maintenance lawns and an abundance of perennial colour.
The pool area was designed to be sheltered, and has a feature timber deck and Griselinia hedge to soften the pool fencing.
The site is set within an enclave with specimen trees, plantings, lakes and abundant bird life.
The meandering drive up to the site provides breath-taking views across valleys, Napier hill, the Ocean, Mahia Peninsula and the surrounding ranges and nearby pastural scenes.
The surroundings provided inspiration for this site.
