Its ability to produce radiant heat on a cold wintry night may be the most important consideration when choosing a fireplace, but it isn't the only one. Aesthetic design, fuel efficiency and avoiding a smoky environment are also relevant factors.

Jetmaster fires that burn wood and gas are designed to eliminate smoking problems, says marketing manager Daniel Belnick.

"The heat exchange chamber, prefabricated steel firebox, two-way heating system and built-in damper control combine to provide efficient, economic fireplaces."

There are eight different gas fires with log, coal and pebble sets and a variety of exterior designs. This includes the new range of Topaz gas burners, which have wrap-around stainless steel aprons for a contemporary look.

Heat & Glo fireplaces from America vent straight out the back and are particularly suited to two-storey homes. These units feature intellifire technology, so that one flick of the switch instantly lights the pilot and burner, offering hassle free, cost effective operation, says Belnick.

"Heat & Glo gas fires draw air from outside for combustion, never stealing oxygen or warmed air from the room."

Realistic campfire log sets feature intense yellow flames and glowing embers enable Heat & Glo units to resemble natural wood-burning fires.

Jetmaster also supplies a full range of accessories, including decorative fascias, mantelpieces, granite and marble hearths, screens and stands.
