Wake-up call
From the ambient lighting and chromatherapy to the steam and music, the new DTV II shower controls from Kohler appeal to all the senses
Digital technology features throughout our homes, but the bathroom is probably the last place you would expect to see it in action.
The new DTV II shower control from Kohler has changed all that. Now the same technology that powers your computers, appliances and audiovisual equipment is transforming the showering experience.
Following on from its original DTV digital shower control, Kohler has introduced the next generation an enhanced edition that adds music, ambient lighting, chromatherapy and steam to provide a complete sensory experience.
Michael Wandschneider, Kohler senior product manager for Performance Showering, says showering is no longer just about water.
"The DTV II provides a completely integrated, all-encompassing sensory experience," he says. "The user-friendly digital control panel brings together four elements water, sound, light and steam to provide a fully customized and choreographed showering experience."
Wandschneider says the digital controls allow each family member to personalize their own settings, which can be called up instantly. These can be easily changed as required.
Sound is provided by high-fidelity Kohler SoundTile¢ speakers, which are fully waterproof. The speakers are designed to match the shape, profile and finish of the Kohler WaterTile body sprays and showerheads. The speakers have been engineered in close cooperation with Polk Audio, an award-winning designer and manufacturer of high-performance audio products.
Chromatherapy is provided by a new WaterTile Ambient Rain lighting panel, which also includes four WaterTile body sprays. As well as solid colors, there are preprogrammed color sequences.
Kohler Fast Response¢ steam generators complete the showering experience.
