Traditional charm
A kitchen in keeping with the style of the residence has given this home a new lease of life

A modern look isn't always fitting when it comes to interior design especially in a period home. The owners of the featured property were looking to update their kitchen but wanted to bring back some of the character inherent in their villa.
Kitchen designer Toni Roberts BArch CKDNZ, devised a design that blended the architectural era of the house with the necessities of a contemporary kitchen.
"Replacing the cumbersome breakfast bar with an island layout has opened up the space for a more welcoming feel."

Sympathetic detailing in the form of tongue-and-groove panelling on the island and the hand-finished cabinetry complement the overall scheme.
"What really enhances the timeless aspect is the Star Galaxy granite from PSP Stonecraft. The warm copper accents within the stone work beautifully with the timber floors," says Roberts.
"We have access to some of the best quarries in the world from which we source our granites and marbles," says Dave Morgan of PSP Stonecraft.
