Every aspect of the on-campus University of Auckland Halls of Residence followed the same high level of finish and finesse appropriate to the new environment the door handles included.

Handle Solutions supplied and installed all the architectural handle hardware, says director Gary Loughnan.

"However, our focus was a consultancy role in this project with the right initial decisions ensuring the hardware aspect of the project went smoothly through to completion, including installation.

"The process was involved requiring liaison with several parties, including Hawkins Construction, the University of Auckland, security, the aluminium joiners, fire door manufacturers and also the pod manufacturers," says Loughnan.

As it was to be a high-traffic university project, a variety of durable, user-friendly products were selected that would stand up to the heavy-use load.
