With AW Edwards' latest project TAFE Redevelopment in Sydney the company was faced with the challenge of providing onsite accommodation for 100 construction workers in a small 12m x 7m area. AW Edwards consequently turned to Royal Wolf to help solve the problem.

To provide swift, comprehensive solutions, Royal Wolf uses new modified shipping containers that have been fitted out to serve the specific needs of each construction project. National building and construction manager Andrew Strachan says there was extremely limited space in which to install the required buildings.

"With a need for air conditioned amenities, including numerous lunch rooms, ablution blocks, change rooms and first aid rooms, all in a 12m x 7m area, there was only one option to go up."

"We stacked the work-site buildings four storeys high in three rows, and connected the multi-level facilities with stairs and walkways to provide easy access and it was all installed in a single day."

Strachan says Royal Wolf site buildings are extremely safe, secure and durable. And, because they are containerised facilities with a small footprint, they can remain on site. In this case, they will remain on site for approximately 12 months.
