In life, any decision you make is more likely to be the right one if it is backed up by a robust information-gathering process. And when you consider that buying or building a new home is probably the biggest financial decision you'll ever make, the value of good research becomes even clearer.

To help with this, Cavalier Homes has built its Breezeway design as a display home for people who are looking for an architecturally designed home, but who are uncertain about the whole process.

Cavalier Homes director Gus Bemportato says his company's research has found many people who want an architectural-style home but are frightened by the associated risks.

"These people are uncertain what their finished home will look like, whether the design will be workable on a day-to-day basis and what the final price will be," he says. "However, as proven project home builders, we have overcome all these problems."

In the Breezeway display home, potential homeowners can walk through, touch, feel and see first-hand how the design works.

"Plus, we offer a firm retail price to build a similar home, so the only decisions the client has to make are where to build and what colours they want. This removes the uncertainty from the design and build process," says Bemportato.

The three-bedroom Breezeway features diverse lines and a combination of building materials to create visual interest and maximise street appeal. The design, which maximises space, light and ventilation, uses split levels, large volume ceilings and extensive cut-out walls to create a contemporary architectural flavour.

In addition to the Breezeway design, Cavalier Homes offers a diverse range of house plans through its extensive national network of franchisee builders.

With Cavalier Homes, the homeowner works directly with the builder, who is likely to have worked for many years in these areas and have a long-established reputation.
