Good communication, plus builders and contractors with a passion for their craft made for a successful project
A multitude of surfaces throughout the house required finishes that provided not only protection and durability, but also complemented the use of natural materials like wood, copper and schist.
To achieve a consistent look throughout, all paint and polyurethane used was supplied by Resene. On the interior walls, Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen waterborne enamel in Resene Half Spanish White was applied, giving surfaces a smooth appearance and visually minimising any imperfections in the plastered joins.
This paint provides the durability of an enamel with the benefits of a waterborne paint, such as low odour and easy clean-up, according to marketing manager Karen Warman.
"The paint is also versatile enough to suit most interior applications, from wet to broadwall areas, and trim and joinery," she says.
The exterior of the house is finished in Resene Lumbersider, an Environmental Choice approved acrylic with a satin finish that provides durability for exposed surfaces and is also washable.
