Sustainable philosophy
An ecologically friendly perspective creates an enduring design in more ways than one
Greater environmental awareness has permeated all walks of life, resulting in a groundswell of support for sustainable manufacturing processes. This is particularly true in furniture production, where timber plays a large role.
However, you can enjoy the beauty of natural timber without compromising your environmental principles, says Modern Bamboo founder Anthony Marschak.
"Bamboo has captivated designers and craftsmen for millennia, not least because of its rapidly renewable qualities."
Marschak spent five years examining the structural qualities of bamboo. He combined the knowledge gained with a desire to produce a range of furniture that not only used sustainable materials, but also minimized material waste. The result is the Modern Bamboo furniture line.
"Each piece in the range embodies functionality, detail, and craftsmanship."
Marschak has partnered with Smith and Fong, makers of PlybooTM flooring, for the exclusive construction of his Modern Bamboo furniture line.
As well as the Modern Bamboo line, Marschak produces bespoke furniture pieces using FSC-certified walnut and cherry timbers.
