Sun, sea and surf
With white lacquered cabinets, back-painted glass and CaesarStone® Snow benchtops, this Ohope kitchen literally reflects its beachfront location
It's summer all year round for the owners of this new kitchen. And it's not just the beachfront location that sets the scene it's also the choice of colours and materials.
Kitchen designer Mark Bruce, CKD, of Beaver Kitchens in Whakatane says the owners wanted a sleek, white kitchen that would complement the home's contemporary architecture.
"Reflective materials seemed an appropriate choice, as the kitchen looks straight out to a great expanse of sea and sky," Bruce says. "We combined white lacquered cabinets with white back-painted glass doors, and sky-blue glass sliding doors, which conceal a 3m-long appliance garage."
A 20mm-thick CaesarStone® benchtop in the colour Snow, from The Laminex Group, enhances the crisp, linear look.
"CaesarStone is one of our favourite products," says Bruce. "We use it for many of our projects, for a variety of reasons. It is highly durable, and we appreciate the colour consistency the colour of the sample is the colour of the finished product. The stonemasons also like working with CaesarStone, as it is not too heavy."
Other products in the kitchen from The Laminex Group include the Scilm aluminium-framed cabinetry doors, the Hettich Innotech soft-close drawer system, and the Hettich Slide Line 66 sliding doors that conceal the appliance garage.
