"The honed masonry block exterior, which incorporates the DryBlock system utilises built-in water repellency and turns a traditional standard masonry block into a block that repels water," says Stevenson's product manager Shaun Owen. "Solid concrete-block masonry construction using the DryBlock system reduces water worries and significantly improves the weather-tightness of buildings by producing water-repellent walls."

In winter, walls absorb heat during the day, releasing it to warm the interiors at night. In summer, the house is insulated from excessive heat, and stays cooler, says Owen.
