Ensuring the end result of any commercial fit-out matches the initial concept comes down to maintaining a collaborative relationship between all parties. Choosing a lead contractor with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors, and with experience that comes from having done the job themselves, is the first step.

Selected to oversee the fit-out of the new Telecom concept store at Telecom Place was Format Interiors.

"As this was a new concept for both us and the client, we got on board at the beginning of the process, working with Telecom and designer Gascoigne Associates to develop the project," says managing director Jacques de Lange. "Bringing together our expertise across all aspects of corporate fit-outs, including utilising our own in-house joinery division, along with the up-front planning and analysis, meant the project progressed smoothly."

As well as carrying out all of the joinery work, the Format team was onsite managing the day-to-day works, sourcing specific products for the project from overseas, and providing solutions to incorporate Telecom's technologies into the shop environment.
