Set like stone

There are many options when selecting new tiles for your house, including those with the colours and textures of stone, which can introduce a natural richness to your rooms.

Formations is a new tiling concept from Johnson Tiles that can help to create this atmosphere. The collection consists of Shale, Dolomite, Magma, Flint, Basalt, Stone and Azurlite, says retail manager Richard Combes.

"The designs include a selection of plain tiles, scored tiles and borders, all designed to bring the organic richness of stone into your home."

Tiles from the Dolomite range give the above bathroom a distinctive appearance.

"The 400mm x 300mm field tiles create the effect of a brick wall, but the room's focal point is the area framed by leather borders. The scored tiles are used vertically to highlight the handbasin and draw the eye upwards to the mirror."

The 300mmx200mm tiles around the mirror area show that using different sized tiles can give a bathroom a harmoniousappearance.

The Formations collection can be interchanged for different effects. Other border options include Lucerne matt or gloss silver strips.
