Ask any passionate foodie what are the most important considerations in a kitchen, and they are most likely to talk about the appliances. Get these right and meal preparation will always be a breeze.

For this kitchen, a full complement of Fisher & Paykel appliances was supplied. The appliances are all in Iridium stainless steel an easy-clean finish that is resistant to fingermarks.

The designer specified a Fisher & Paykel Titan single oven, which has a large capacity and a variety of functions that make it well suited to a family. The 10 cooking modes include a specially designed roast function that first sears your meat before automatically dropping the temperature to complete the cooking process. Cleaning is also a breeze, thanks to the pyrolytic self-cleaning feature.

The oven is paired with the Fisher & Paykel CG903M Jet 90cm-wide gas cooktop, which features five burners, including a simmer, wok and fish burner. Uniform flames provide precise heat control under even the most demanding conditions. This means you can cook the most delicate sauce or the thickest steak with ease. A semi-industrial look is achieved by contrasting the smooth Iridium stainless steel cooktop with durable cast iron trivets.

Steam and odours are removed quietly and efficiently by the Fisher & Paykel Apex 90cm-wide rangehood. In addition to a powerful centrifugal fan, the rangehood features extra-fine filters to trap grime. Triple halogen lamps ensure there is generous light coverage over the entire cooking area.

To provide a fully co-ordinated kitchen, the designer specified a Designer Series Double DishDrawer®, which features square-edged handles that complement the handles on the slate-blue cabinetry.

The DishDrawer is an ergonomic, energy-efficient dishwasher with two drawers that operate independently. This means you can stack dishes in one while a load is being washed in the other. Having two DishDrawers also allows you to separate glasses and crockery from pots and pans for light and heavy-duty washes.

The DishDrawer programmes include an economical Eco option, which maximises energy and water savings.

Other green initiatives from Fisher & Paykel include the use of recyclable polycarbonates and metal. Packaging is also either re-used or recycled to eliminate waste. In addition, an on-line manufacturing operations ensures there is less waste and less inventory.
